2015 National Sport Safety and Security Conference

The 2015 National Sport Safety and Security Conference and Exhibition recently took place on July 6-9 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The theme of the conference was “Enhancing Tomorrow TODAY” and the event addressed on issues with providing proper security for sporting events.
Mississippi Office of Homeland Security’s Executive Director, Rusty Barnes, opened the conference speaking about the partnership the office has undertaken with NCS4 and the University of Southern Mississippi to ensure that sporting events in Mississippi receive the best security measures available.
Attendees of the conference gained valuable insight on unmanned aircraft systems, the impact of civil unrest at sporting venues, as well real world cases involving alcohol abuse, fighting, and personal injury. Lastly, the launch of the “Safety and Security Best Practices” which focuses on high schools, marathons, and colleges across the country was finalized and is available on the NCS4 website under the “Who We Serve” section.
